Tannin
Block Sealer
A transparent
acrylic sealer with excellent adhesive and sealing properties. Use
on wooden or Masonite surfaces where tannin, pitch or oil may bleed
through the paint coat. If surface is to be stained or pickled,
this should be completed BEFORE use of Tannin Block Sealer. Faux
finish to conceal areas that could stain discolored, such as knots.

Directions
- Apply 1 to 2 undiluted coats to a clean, dry surface. ALLOW
TO DRY NATURALLY (no hairdryers). Heat encourages the pitch and
oils to release. Apply directly over knots and at least 2" beyond.
- Allow curing for 7-14 days under normal conditions before proceeding
to basecoat or decorate.
- Tannin Block Sealer remains tacky to the touch even when cured.
This is normal and assures good surface adhesion for subsequent
applications of paint. An undiluted coat of Clear Glaze Medium
can be applied to the surface as a barrier coat before proceeding
to basecoat or decorate.
- Tannin Block Sealer may be used as an adhesive for Gold or
Silver Leaf on decorative surfaces.
Refer to Gold
& Silver Leaf instruction in the online guide to decorative painting
section of this web site or the Jo Sonja Artists' Companion Booklet
for complete leafing instructions.
Clean up with
mild soap and cool water
