All
Purpose Sealer for Wood
1.
All Purpose Sealer is an extremely hard sealer which leaves wood
with an almost impenetrable seal. All Purpose Sealer is not recommended
for wood that will be stained. Apply a coat of Clear Glazing Medium
to seal before staining. This will insure an even application of
stain.
2.
One Step Basecoating: No need to sand first. Mix All Purpose Sealer
with desired colour 1:1. Apply with criss-cross strokes before smoothing
in the direction of wood grain. Sand when dry and apply second coat
without addition of sealer, if desired. Flow Medium can be added
to eliminate brush strokes.
All
Purpose Sealer for Metal or Tin
1.
Shiny tin should be scuffed with medium grit sandpaper. The objective
is to provide a "tooth" to the surface for proper adhesion.
The surface should be free from dirt, oils and rust.
2.
Apply All Purpose Sealer undiluted using a sponge or soft fibered
brush. Allow sealer to harden at least overnight before proceeding.
You may quick set by preheating oven to 200 degrees, turn oven off
and place item in oven. Close oven door and allow piece to cool
in oven. Maximum hardening only develops over time. Additional All
Purpose Sealer may be mixed with your first basecoat colour 1:1
for added durability.
All
Purpose Sealer for Ceramic Surfaces
1.
Unglazed Bisque: No pre-sanding required. Mix All Purpose Sealer
into desired Jo Sonja's Artist Colour approximately 1:1 and proceed
with decorating. May increase the gloss level of the paint. No finish
is required.
2.
Glazed or Non-Porous Surface: Apply undiluted over the entire surface
or just under design area. Allow to dry. Decorate as desired. When
dry, varnish if desired.
3.
Glass or Tile: For maximum adhesion to glass, tiles and non-porous
surfaces Jo Sonja's Glass & Tile Primer and Medium are recommended.
