Clear
Glaze Medium
A transparent
acrylic glazing medium that can be used alone or with Jo Sonja's
Artists and/or Jo Sonja's Background Colors. Mix with base color
to seal as you basecoat or alone on raw wood as a light sealer.
A coat of Clear Glaze Medium is recommended prior to staining for
an even application of stain.
Use as a
Barrier Coat
Apply undiluted any time a barrier coat is needed to protect your
painting before the next step or technique. Dries quickly to allow
layering. Can use blow dryer to accelerate drying time. Do not exceed
3 coats in 24 hours. Can use a hair dryer to accelerate the drying
time.
Directions
- As a sealer or barrier coat, using a large dry brush, apply
a medium coat of Clear Glaze Medium.
- For staining or pickling the wood, mix with desired Jo Sonja's
Artist's Color. Apply over lightly sealed wood. Wipe off excess
with clean, dry cloth.
- For glazing or floated color, side load brush with color and
Clear Glaze Medium. For a longer open time, add 1 part Retarder
to 3 parts Clear Glaze Medium.
- A coat of Clear Glaze Medium is recommended over a newly painted
pieces to seal the surface and for ease in application of varnish.
Clean up with
mild soap and cool water

Clear Glaze with desired Jo Sonja’s Artist's Color for staining
wood.
